David Taylor, Construction Management Advisor
Having grown up in his father’s construction company, David has an inherent interest in the challenges the construction industry presents and the personal satisfaction and reward that it offers. David attended Western Michigan University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science & Management.
During college and for several years following, he worked in the family construction business until his father’s retirement. After that, David’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his own construction company where he forged many relationships with clients, vendors, design professionals and associates through the many specialized projects his company performed and services it provided. After nine years in business, David made the difficult decision to close his company and change his career path to spend more time with his wife and two young sons.
He was drawn in to the healthcare industry where he was able to apply his knowledge of construction and facilities in his role as Facilities Manager for the area’s largest hospital system, and then as Director of Facilities for a private hospital. The responsibilities of these roles, including the management of construction projects within the complexities of healthcare facilities, was invaluable to his career. It led him to his current role as Construction Manager for one of West Michigan’s largest commercial real-estate developers, managing large-scale projects in an owner’s rep capacity.
The uniqueness of his experiences as a general contractor, sub-contractor, customer, facilities manager and owner’s representative has allowed him to see projects from different perspectives. He strives on each project to achieve fairness and balance of expectations between project contractors, design firms and owners in the four key areas of: cost, quality, schedule and safety.
David serves Fazio Custom Homes LLC in the capacity of Construction Management Advisor, providing guidance and counsel to help achieve project success and customer delight.
